IMS Seminar and Advanced Training Course in Stellenbosch: 7-11 May 2012

The Institute of Mine Seismology has held a seminar on Micro-Seismic Monitoring in Mines in South Africa each year from 1990. This is an opportunity for users, practitioners and researchers around the world to meet and discuss the latest seismological analysis techniques and technology. In addition, a 3-day advanced training course is held as part of the seminar.

The 2012 IMS seminar was be held at Asara Wine Estate outside Stellenbosch on the 10 & 11th of May. Training courses were be held at the IMS offices from the 7th to the 9th of May.

Training

The Institute of Mine Seismology offers some different forms of training:

  • basic training during installation and commissioning of new IMS systems
  • intermediate-level training courses on customer sites, upon request
  • intermediate-level training courses held in Australia each year
  • an advanced 3-day training course held as part of the annual seminar
