Special processing is performed to help reduce the amount of seismic data to be manually processed by creating and honing filters that remove data that does not pertain to an actual seismic event.
- Automatic rejection of noise helps filter out events caused by noise sources in the mining environment. This helps reduce the number of events that must be manually processed, and thus the cost of routine processing.
- Discrimination of blasts makes it possible to quantitatively classify the recorded event either as normal (associated with fracturing in the rock mass or slip on planes of weakness) or blast.
Special reports are ad-hoc reports performed for customers to help maximise the benefits of the seismic monitoring system and processing feedback.
