MINE SEISMOLOGY WORKSHOP

University of New South Wales, Sydney, 4 – 8 May 2020

The workshop will be held from 4 – 8 May 2020 at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Faculty of Engineering, Sydney, Australia.

The workshop is aimed to promote presentation and discussion of recent developments on the topics of mine seismology: mechanisms of seismic events and mechanics of rock-burst damage, processing of seismic monitoring data, rock mass characterization using active and passive seismic data, assessment of seismic and rock-burst hazards. A special session is planned which will be dedicated to the presentations of geotechnical practitioners, who will share their experience with seismic monitoring at particular mines.
The workshop also includes a primer course on the basics of mine seismology, advanced seismological courses and training in IMS software.

30th MINE SEISMOLOGY SEMINAR

Marriott Denver West, Golden, Colorado, 25 – 27 June 2020

The Institute of Mine Seismology will hold the 30th annual Seminar on Microseismic Monitoring in Mines in Golden Colorado, USA in June 2020. The two day seminar will take place on 26 – 27 June 2020, while pre- and post-seminar training courses will be held on 25 June 2020 and 27 – 28 June 2020.

This is an opportunity for users, practitioners and researchers in the field of mine seismology to meet and discuss the latest seismological analysis techniques and technology. The main objective is to present the latest work in assessing long, intermediate and short term seismic hazard, on passive and active seismic monitoring and in integration of numerical modelling with seismic data.
