University of New South Wales, Sydney, 19 – 21 July 2021

The workshop will be held from 19 – 21 July 2021 at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), School of Minerals and Energy Resources Engineering, Sydney, Australia (with online streaming).

The workshop is aimed to promote presentation and discussion of recent developments on the topics of mine seismology: mechanisms of seismic events and mechanics of rock-burst damage, processing of seismic monitoring data, rock mass characterization using active and passive seismic data, assessment of seismic and rock-burst hazards. A special session is planned which will be dedicated to the presentations of geotechnical practitioners, who will share their experience with seismic monitoring at particular mines.
The workshop also includes a primer course on the basics of mine seismology, advanced seismological courses and training in IMS software.
