The Institute of Mine Seismology provides

monitoring applications

designed for installation in the harsh environments of open-pit and underground mines.

The IMS seismic monitoring system is designed for installation in the harsh environments of open-pit and underground mines. The installation technique and IMS system are also suitable for many non-mining-related situations, such as underground storage of nuclear waste, regional seismic monitoring from surface, monitoring of dams and the monitoring of hydraulic fracturing for geothermal and oil-and-gas projects. Generally, these environments are more benign than mining conditions, so IMS equipment enjoys a reputation for ruggedness, fault-tolerance and flexibility in these situations.

Note that all seismic system illustrations and descriptions depict typical system layouts. In reality, all system layouts are customised to suit the application environment and customers’ needs.
